I am a Research Director at CNRS (DR), group leader at the Institut de Biologie de l’ENS (IBENS) and adjunct Professor of Evolutionary Genomics at ENS. In my research, I am trying to better understand how the genomes of animals, and in particular the human genome, have evolved and are organised to carry out their multiple functions. To achieve this, we analyse genomes by combining evolutionary and functional data, using bioinformatics and statistical methods. Two current subjects in my lab concern the reconstruction of ancestral genomes in vertebrates (see for instance Genomicus) and the analysis of non-coding regulatory DNA in the human genome.
