Training

1991. Degree in Biology from University of Lisbon, Portugal

1995. Ph.D. in Molecular Biology with first class honors from University of Lisbon, Portugal

1995-2000. Post-doctoral fellow at the Institut Jacques Monod (Danièle Touati’s lab, Paris) : study of the role of the bacterial superoxide dismutase during the symbiosis of Sinorhizobium meliloti and the leguminous plant alfalfa.

200-2002. Post-doctoral fellow at the Institut Jacques Monod (Jean-Michel Camadro’s lab, Paris) : study of iron homeostasis and oxidative stress in the yeast S. cerevisiae.

2002. Recruited as Investigator (Chargé de Recherche) at the CNRS in France.

2002-2011. Work in the same lab (IJM) on the effect of frataxin-deficiency (that cause a neurodegenerative disease in humans) on oxidative stress response and cell death in yeast and mammalian cells.

2012-. Move to Patrick Charnay’s lab at the ISBN to study adult neuronal stem cells in mice.
