Presentation

After an initial education as an engineer in Computer Sciences & Applied Mathematics, I obtained a PhD in Computer Sciences and Genetics, during which I developed a software suite dedicated to the intra- and inter-genome detection of segmental duplications, which I used to build a map of segmental duplications within the published genomes. I then studied the influence of segmental duplications in the context of intra-chromosomal, non-homologous recombination of duplicated regions in haploid sex chromosomes, especially within the primates.

I am now working under the supervision of Hugues Roest Crollius and in collaboration with researchers from the Aix-Marseille University on applying machine learning methods to the characterisation and prediction of variants influencing gene expression in the human genome. Our goal is to determine, from genetic, genomic and epigenetic data, which signals are the best correlated to the influence of a variant, and so in a tissue-specific manner to better explore the genomic and epigenomic specificities of human tissues.
